It’s the night before the ACE National Exposition and I have learned a significant lesson once again. Be smart and back up your files. Unfortunately I did not do a great job at backing up a website I was launching for tomorrow and I had to re-do some of my work (lost code).
So I wanted to make some suggestions to everyone out there from my experience. Get external hard drives and have automated back up systems. If your working with websites, have a cloud application that automatically backs up your database and theme files.
Here are a couple of things I’m using (and will continue to do a better job).
For my Mac I have an external hard drive and use the built-in software Time Machine from Apple.
As for my websites, I am using Automatic WordPress Backup which backs up not only the database but also files to a Amazon S3 account (frankly the backup is so small it hasn’t cost me anything yet).
Maybe this will help you out in your technological journeys.
